Gabriel will officially join Groupe Supernova as Chief Information Security Officer. His specialized training and network in the cybersecurity field will be key assets in protecting our clients' infrastructure.
Jonathan Patoine didn't follow a single path. He walked many — tree planter, security guard, police officer, restaurant entrepreneur, editor for Montreal media — and in each one he searched for the same thing without always being able to name it: a place where his skills meet something truly worth doing.
He found that something for the first time on an Atari screen. Not in the game itself, but in what it represented: living proof that a little code could create an entire world. That fascination never left him.
In December 2022, his business closes by government decision. He starts over with his brother, opens a franchise, fights hard. It's not enough. Then a CISO — head of cybersecurity for a regional health authority — opens an unexpected door. Jonathan enrols in an AEC program at Collège Cumberland. He learns protocols, networks, vulnerabilities. By learning how systems fall, he finally understands how they work.
It's during this period that he begins working with artificial intelligence — not as a tool, but as a partner. He realizes something fundamental: he's no longer blocked behind the wall of knowledge he'd need to acquire before creating. Imagination can precede mastery. He begins building his game studio. He begins dreaming bigger.
In early 2026, his editorial contract in Montréal ends. That's the supernova. The explosion that precedes the rebirth.
In March 2026, Groupe Supernova is officially born — with a precise mission: start local. Help entrepreneurs and artisans in the region build their digital presence and truly live from what they love doing. The first pilot project: a Brazilian jiu-jitsu dojo in Beauce. A passionate instructor struggling to reach enough clients. Exactly the kind of person this was built for.
A supernova is not an end. It is the explosion that scatters across the universe the elements needed to create new stars.
